The Hiro and the Goddesses - PSL for Hiro and Skuld

Hey look, another portal to who knows where! There were a few things different about this one though.

For one thing voices were coming out of it in an odd mix of languages before resolving into the one Hiro knew best.

For another? It opened up right beside him, without any tech that he could see on his end that should have opened any such portal.

And if more weirdness was needed? It had gravity. Like a lot of it. He and much of the stuff around him was being pulled towards the center of it.

As to the voices coming out of it:

"You big baka! Mitaru at this mess! Everyone knows you can't make a mon to Yggdrasil with those calculations! That's not a bridge mandala! It's a summoning portal!" A youngish sounding female voice was screaming. "Idiot! Baka!"

An angry older voice, this one clearly belonging to an adult woman was screaming back. "Well maybe if the paper with all the calculations wasn't covered in ice cream I could read it!"

The voices grew louder, or rather, thanks to the increasing gravity, he was pulled closer.

"Maybe if you'd stop making your weirdo medicines and testing them on yourself all the time you could actually read basic Ndiminesional math!" the first voice accused

"Oho?" The second asked, almost purring now, all trace of anger seemingly gone. "Then who should I test it on I suppose? You, dear little sist... OW!" That would be when the first large item made it through. "What in the OW! It's raining... supplies of some sort!"

"I told you it's a summoning!" the first voice called, frantic. "Quick, erase the summoning sigil from the northwest sector."

"If I knew which one was the summoning sigil I wouldn't have used it!" the woman protested as he was falling into the portal.

"How did you ever get your license?" The younger one demanded. "It's this one here!" She started scrubbing at it furiously with the stick end of what looked like a comically large mallet.

Because now he could see the pair on the ground below him. The rapidly approaching ground. The woman was floating above some huge complicated design actually etched into the stone courtyard of some sort of Japanese temple. Her white hair was dancing weightless in the air around her.

The girl, on the other hand was firmly on the ground, fighting to obliterate one of the many complicated symbols, focused and frustrated, her long black hair hanging limp as an odd shaped robot and what looked like a small child tried to help her. "OH FOR GODDESS SAKE!" she finally yelled. "BACK!"

The woman floated up higher, the robot and the child rushed back as the teenager pulled what looked like one of those odd game balls with the wires out... of her shirt.... and threw it on the ground. The ground he was still approaching, though his fall was slowing.

There was a loud explosion that blew him back up several feet before letting him resume falling. More than half of the complicated circle and its symbols had been replaced with a smoking crater. The teenager looked more than a little worse for the wear standing right at the edge of it. She opened her mouth to speak, or cough when the woman finally looked up.

"INCOMING!" the woman said, seeing him falling at them with the last few of his belongings. "Wait, why is he falling as slowly as the book is?"

"SCIENCE!" the teen shouted in frustration. "SAVE HIM!"

"Yeah yeah," the woman said. "On it," she muttered, flying up to meet him, wings coming out of her back, one pure white, one jet black. And as she got closer he'd see that her face, chest, and clothes, had "Idiot!" written all over it in various odd typefaces. Usually with outlines, sometimes with drop shadows.

[Hiro was...well. Very confused. At least initially. Mostly because on his end this just happened so suddenly. He has no chance to barely try to grab a hold of anything to stop himself falling in through the portal. He doesn't even get the chance to reach to try let Baymax help.

The equipment in his garage goes pulling towards the portal too, so there goes his homework. Still, he flails a bit, frowning when he hears...Japanese? Though some of what they say still seems like gibberish to him. Hiro glances down to them when he ends up through the portal itself, unsure what to make of their dress sense or the wings or any of this quite yet as he falls.]

Whoa! What.....?!

Please excuse her icons though. Paid ran out over a year ago, lol. She's PSL only, these days.

She flew up and caught him under the arms, pulling him back against her chest. "Gotcha. You owe me for this one, kid," she said as she lowered them to the ground.

Skuld looked up, scowling. "It's your fault in the first place someone even got stuck here, you big idiot. If anything, you owe us."

Urd landed lightly and set him down. She was all but radiating fury at his back. He was now right between two ticked off girls, one of which had just blown up several feet of stone with a bomb hidden in her clothes, the other of which had just been flying...

Ah okay!

Owe me? For not getting me splattered when I got summoned with your -- whatever you're trying here?

[Hiro can't help raising an eyebrow at her logic there. Still, he lets her catch him and set him back down on the ground. He glances around a bit but is obviously quickly needing to pay more attention to the two girls as they argue. He is in between them and raises his hands in some mock gesture of surrender.]

Okay, okay. How about we just help each other figure out how to fix this and get me back home?

One day I shall renew her paid just to get her a good final fifteen, lol.

"You heard him," the woman said. "Fixing things is your whole thing isn't it, Skuld? I'll just leave you two kids to it then."

At the word kids Skuld, the teen, looked ready to explode, even without a bomb.

But before she could say a word, the woman spoke again. "I'll be inside, my show starts in ten minutes anyway. Ta ta."

"But it's my turn to have the TV!" Skuld wailed. "It's time for Mysteries of Science Beyond 3000!" But the door slid shut firmly on her words. She snarled. "I'm going to write idiot all over her one day," she muttered. "Fine. She wants me to fix this, I'll fix this. Then I'll fix her," she muttered darkly, seeming to have forgotten there was still a strange boy, a robot, and whoever that quiet little girl was watching her.

She could be forgiven for forgetting the cat that was also watching them, as the black and white feline was laying low across the roof and could be easily missed. Except for the very unfeline smirk he was now wearing.

I feel that. The annoyance of what icons you get left with without a paid.

Mysteries of Science what now?

[They....couldn't mean the year 3000, did they? Hiro isn't sure what to make of that idea. That he was summoned to the future. But, well. This might explain the strange clothes, or at least the writing on them, with Skuld complaining about writing idiot all over her...friend? Whoever that other lady was.

He notes the cat, given his love and terrorizing of Mochi back home. Though he might not be quite sure what to make of it. Of that smirk. He tries to shrug that off, in favor of checking on Baymax.]

Hey, buddy. You alright?

[....Yup, of course the walking marshmallow is on low battery after being summoned through that. Easily established by the gibberish Baymax spouts as he flops against Hiro, almost causing him to fall over.

Great.]

Oh cool! Baymax came too? Sweet! Twofer.

Skuld spun to face him. "Mysteries of Science Beyond 3000! It's this great show that tries to theorize what different technologies will look like after the year three thousand and uses a ton of cutting edge science to explain why they think things will be that way!" her eyes were almost sparkling by the end of the explanation, anger forgotten. "It's the best show ever created!" And then she saw Baymax. And stopped. Just stopped. "OHMYGAWSH! He is so CUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!" she said, staring wide eyed. She wanted to hug him. She totally wanted to hug him. She was about to say as much when she stopped.

"Is this another trap like that rocket?" One of these days she was going to get back at Mara for that. She was aware it was probably mostly Hild, but Hild was TERRIFYING, so she'd get back at Mara who was somewhat incompetent as Demons go.

I love the walking marshmallow. Baymax is the best. Not as cute as Minimax but still adorable.

Oh. Riiiight. Sounds neat! Only, I'm sure I'd rather get us back home so I can take care of Baymax. You know, plug him back in to his charger.

[Because he was quite a handful like this. Literally, with the way he was leaning on Hiro. Of course, vinyl didn't way much if anything but it was still the case that Baymax was so much bigger and thus awkward for Hiro to deal with like this.]

Hello. I am -- personal companion...healthcare.

[Hiro just sighs, trying to keep Baymax upright somewhat while not falling over himself.]

This is Baymax. He's a personal healthcare companion robot my brother made. He's running low on battery, he's not....usually like this. But no, he isn't a trap.....

“What kind of charger does he need? I’m sure I can build one for him, it’s going to take me some time to figure out what my idiot sister did, anyway.”

Hiro makes a Minimax to keep an eye on Fred in the series. He is the cutest.

You could make one? I wouldn't say no, but shouldn't we figure getting back home first? Or....maybe you focus on that while I figure what I can to sort out a charger if I can find anything useful here?

[Preferably while leaving Baymax somewhere safe and out of the way while they work. At the very least. Given his state while low on battery and all. Ideally he would figure charging Baymax before getting back home somehow. If possible.]

"I could make one faster than I could figure out how to get you back home," she admitted. "But don't worry, I'll figure out both! Because I am a genius, after all," she said showing off her tremendous ego.

He is pretty cute!

I guess it'd be easier if we didn't need to deal with Baymax on low battery. So....sure.

[Hey, he wasn't going to question the ego or genius thing. People probably often underestimated him because of his younger age and all. And even he made mistakes sometimes along the way with his inventions and ideas, putting them into practice aside from being awesome ideas on paper.]

Is there somewhere we can just...shut him away in a room or something for a bit while we work?

"Sure. He can rest in my room till we build the charger! This way!" she said. She headed for the long low temple and hopped onto the outer wooden walkway, leading them towards the front door where she quickly kicked off her shoes to swap for slippers and led them through the halls. In what looked like an almost perfectly clean sitting room with a low table and cushions Urd was laying on her stomach watching TV as she sipped sake. Which was made odd by the fact that she was floating three feet off the ground doing it. Skuld made a face at her silently as they passed, which she failed to notice. There was a room with a sign that said "Keiichi's workshop", a kitchen with an old fashioned pump at the sink, a few other closed doors, and finally one that boasted a sign proclaiming "Skuld's Labs" in big letters, and in smaller ones "no big dummies or Demons allowed."

She slid open the door to a room that could have belonged to any of his classmates. Except maybe Fred. And... with the exception of one key thing. There was no bed or futon. No place to even put one. What there was was a drafting table with marked up plans, several stacks of manga almost as tall as he was, what looked like a lab or work table tilted with a lip like someone might lay on it and be nearly standing that was tall enough for exactly that. The rest of the room was a mess of tools, tool boxes,. assorted random parts, the random empty ice cream tub here and there, and some rather geeky toys, like the model of the starship enterprise that was resting on a pile of washers and nuts.

"He can rest in here," she said happily. "And we can grab what we need if you prefer to work outside."

I want at least one of each. Baymax is the best.

Okay, cool. Thanks. I just figure it is probably best to keep him out of the way where he won't get in our way or damage anything.

[He pulls at Baymax, ignoring the robot's commentary or attempted commentary and questions about the place and the new strangers, as he pulls the robot through the house. He doesn't even bother trying to hide Baymax as they go through the lounge where the other is.

He just pauses when he gets to the room, noting how....normal? it seemed? At least to him, sans actually having a bed. And without the divider to portion off of Tadashi's space, otherwise it looked pretty similar to his own room. Or it would, if Aunt Cass didn't get on his case so often about cleaning it.]

I'm used to a lab or using the garage. But depending on what it is, we can figure it outside. I don't mind. As long as we get it done and there's nothing in here Baymax can destroy or something.

HAd to reread to see if he's seen Banpei or Sigil yet.

There was a giggle from behind him. the odd robot and the little girl looking person had followed them. The girl giggled. "Things getting destroyed happens all the time here. You get used to it."

Skuld nodded a bit. "Other than Keiichi anything that matters can generally defend itself." Though she might take issue to someone damaging her manga collection, most of her stuff was just... stuff.

She shook her head. "Right. Sorry. I'm Skuld, Goddess Second class, limited. This is Sigil," she nodded to the little girl, "that's Banpei. The idiot in the other room is my older half sister Urd. We have another sister, Belldandy, but she's out right now at work."

Sounds like home then.

[The only sentimental things were really Tadashi's stuff, and photos. Most anything else could generally be replaced somehow. Still, Hiro does pause and turn to the others when he notes the movement of the girl and robot.]

Oh, uh. Hi? I'm Hiro. And this is Baymax.

[Gesturing to the walking marshmallow of a robot that he is trying to get to sit down somewhere there is space.]

Sigil bounded forward. "I can help get him settled so long as I have your promise and his that he won't hit on me. One robotic stalker is more than enough," that last bit was said with a dark glare back at Banpei who just stared at her.

[baymaxing]

"Sta -- what? No! Baymax wouldn't! He's a healthcare companion. Okay, and he helps me fight sometimes, with my upgrades I made."

Not that he had the armor on at the time, given they had just been in his bedroom at the time. Which reminded him....

"I better get home sooner rather than later or my aunt will have everyone out looking for me. And kill me. Not to mention the Professor at university....."

And his homework. But he could worry about that later.

"We'll work on it," Skuld said. "Where are his charging ports, and what voltage does he need?"

Sigil nodded. "Then I can help him."

He just kind of.....stands on the one Tadashi made and folds into it. I can use it as a backpack too if I wanted. Carry him in it. So I guess....his feet? As for the voltage, we might be able to check.

[Unfortunately, ending up here so unexpectedly means Hiro is not exactly prepared for dealing with this. Trying to help Baymax in some other world without his usual supplies and resources. Without the basics Tadashi had already dealt with before Hiro looked after Baymax.]

Be easier if I still had Tadashi's initial plans for him and all, or the ones I worked with, even. But....Baymax, lie down for me.

Good luck finding enough clear space to do that, Baymax. Still, true to her word, Sigil bustled over to help move things aside so that he could.

"his feet?" Skuld said, frowning. "See this is why Banpei charges from his back and Sigil from her chest. Then I can charge them even if they're standing.

"All things considered," Sigil said, proving that yes, she meant the little girl, "I wish my charging ports were somewhere other than my chest, given what a perv Banpei is."

Skuld groaned. "He was saving your life. Some of us might be bothered to thank him for that."

"Did I ask him to? You would have found me eventually. Or he could have gone to get you rather than jumping in the well after me. I thought he was supposed to be intelligent, after all."

[baymaxing]

The back would make more sense. But his charger is portable and he just kind of stands in it in my room when he needs charging. It's not usually an issue like this. I'm not the one that originally made and designed him okay, that was Tadashi.

[Not to say that Hiro hasn't needed to deal with Baymax running on low battery before, but he was always able to get him home to the charger at least. That and....well, he wasn't going to comment or touch on the pervy comments there.]

"Maybe an upgrade for a secondary port?" Skuld suggested as she moved around to see the bottoms and backs of his feet once Sigil had helped him lay down, somewhat on top of stuff. "Oh! I can work with this for now, it looks fairly close to my own standard, so with just a bit of adaption I should be able to jump him off of Banpei to get us started at least."

Do we really have time for more upgrades?

[Hiro isn't sure how time might be weird here. And he definitely doesn't want to spend too long and have Aunt Cass freaking out about him being gone. But there is a sigh of relief that she seems familiar with the port Baymax uses. Or close enough to it, apparently.]

Yeah? That's good, shouldn't take too long then! Uh, I'm not sure if I should offer to help here or just.....stay out of the way...

"Stay out of the way," Sigil said quickly, as if she was trying to stop something from happening by speaking as fast as she could.

Skuld shook her head and rolled her eyes. "I'm getting better about not blowing people up for trying to help, thank you very much."

The young robot managed to looked excessively doubtful, but said nothing.

"I know what we need, and it's in Keiichi's room. Be right back!" she raced from her room, feet... not making contact with the floor on some of her steps, bracelets making an odd sound as they moved rather than the jangling one might expect.

Sigil shrugged at him. "I've only been alive for about a year now, so maybe she is getting better." Which was close as she ever got to saying something disloyal about Skuld.

Hm? Uh, okay, okay. I'll just....stay in the corner and watch?

[Or. What space in the corner he can stand in without bumping into something or stepping on whatever might be in the floor. He shifts, turning and raising an eyebrow at her seeming to float.]

Reminds me of those rocket boots. Except Mochi did not like those and they kinda went overboard.....

[There were numerous times when he and/or Tadashi had ended up at the doctor or in hospital with their inventions not going as planned, after all. Though of course Hiro would rather avoid that if possible. Especially in regards to fire, things blowing up.]

But yeah. Rather not blow up, thanks.
