The Hiro and the Goddesses - PSL for Hiro and Skuld

Hey look, another portal to who knows where! There were a few things different about this one though.

For one thing voices were coming out of it in an odd mix of languages before resolving into the one Hiro knew best.

For another? It opened up right beside him, without any tech that he could see on his end that should have opened any such portal.

And if more weirdness was needed? It had gravity. Like a lot of it. He and much of the stuff around him was being pulled towards the center of it.

As to the voices coming out of it:

"You big baka! Mitaru at this mess! Everyone knows you can't make a mon to Yggdrasil with those calculations! That's not a bridge mandala! It's a summoning portal!" A youngish sounding female voice was screaming. "Idiot! Baka!"

An angry older voice, this one clearly belonging to an adult woman was screaming back. "Well maybe if the paper with all the calculations wasn't covered in ice cream I could read it!"

The voices grew louder, or rather, thanks to the increasing gravity, he was pulled closer.

"Maybe if you'd stop making your weirdo medicines and testing them on yourself all the time you could actually read basic Ndiminesional math!" the first voice accused

"Oho?" The second asked, almost purring now, all trace of anger seemingly gone. "Then who should I test it on I suppose? You, dear little sist... OW!" That would be when the first large item made it through. "What in the OW! It's raining... supplies of some sort!"

"I told you it's a summoning!" the first voice called, frantic. "Quick, erase the summoning sigil from the northwest sector."

"If I knew which one was the summoning sigil I wouldn't have used it!" the woman protested as he was falling into the portal.

"How did you ever get your license?" The younger one demanded. "It's this one here!" She started scrubbing at it furiously with the stick end of what looked like a comically large mallet.

Because now he could see the pair on the ground below him. The rapidly approaching ground. The woman was floating above some huge complicated design actually etched into the stone courtyard of some sort of Japanese temple. Her white hair was dancing weightless in the air around her.

The girl, on the other hand was firmly on the ground, fighting to obliterate one of the many complicated symbols, focused and frustrated, her long black hair hanging limp as an odd shaped robot and what looked like a small child tried to help her. "OH FOR GODDESS SAKE!" she finally yelled. "BACK!"

The woman floated up higher, the robot and the child rushed back as the teenager pulled what looked like one of those odd game balls with the wires out... of her shirt.... and threw it on the ground. The ground he was still approaching, though his fall was slowing.

There was a loud explosion that blew him back up several feet before letting him resume falling. More than half of the complicated circle and its symbols had been replaced with a smoking crater. The teenager looked more than a little worse for the wear standing right at the edge of it. She opened her mouth to speak, or cough when the woman finally looked up.

"INCOMING!" the woman said, seeing him falling at them with the last few of his belongings. "Wait, why is he falling as slowly as the book is?"

"SCIENCE!" the teen shouted in frustration. "SAVE HIM!"

"Yeah yeah," the woman said. "On it," she muttered, flying up to meet him, wings coming out of her back, one pure white, one jet black. And as she got closer he'd see that her face, chest, and clothes, had "Idiot!" written all over it in various odd typefaces. Usually with outlines, sometimes with drop shadows.

Ask about why training wheels are a no no. But yeah, course we're going for ice cream!

[He grins, grabbing the other bike and shoving one of the helmets on his head. Tadashi had kept at him about that sort of thing after all and well. Habit and all that. Still, Hiro was keen for the ice cream, so if he isn't supposed to know about whatever happened with the training wheels, that was fine with him. He pauses then, as he reaches and finds some cash in his hoodie pocket.]

But uh. I don't suppose the ice cream place will take my money?

She narrowed her eyes at him for the training wheels comment, but went out with them. When Sentaro got on his bike, she helped him with the strap for his helmet then put on her own. Skuld's bike was in good shape and was very well maintained. Sentaro's bike was well repaired, but scratched and dinged all over. It looked like it had been in hundreds of wrecks. Skuld stood up on the back of Sentaro's bike, her hands on his shoulder.

Sentaro glanced back at Hiro. "Ready for this?" he asked, smirking a bit.

It's a bike. How can I not be ready for it? I got this.

[Unless she did some modifications to it that she hadn't mentioned, it should be easy enough. So he gives a nod and thumbs up as he ensures his helmet is done up before he kicks off of the stand.]

Just lead the way, cause I'm not going to know where we're going.

"WARP DRIVE!" Sentaro yelled and kicked off, leading the way. Which was when Hiro would learn two things... their area is as hilly if not hillier than Sanfransokyo.... and that Sentaro is wicked good on his bike. Even with a passenger he's taking the uphill climbs like they're nothing. The occasional freaked out noise is coming from Skuld, but Sentaro is laughing and whopping it up as he jumps every descent for extra air and speed. This is clearly his element. And he'd probably get along well with Gogo.

Wha -- hey, wait up!

[It isn't that Hiro is slow or anything. He just isn't anticipating them going so quick. And he needs to follow them to know where they were going, since he just got here and all. He had no idea where this ice cream shop is, after all. Still, it isn't like one really forgets how to ride a bike. Hiro manages to not fall off at least, amid the hills as he tries to keep up.]

Sentaro would risk twisting to make a smug face at him for a moment before adding to the speed, Skuld squealing and clinging to his shoulders.

[Hiro pouts, frowning as he tries to catch up. More because he's frustrated in not wanting to get too far behind than that he is jealous or anything of Sentaro and his time with Skuld. Because it wasn't like he liked her. Well, she seemed nice enough, but he barely knew her, that and he wasn't even from here. So there was no point in any interest in anything other than agreeing to work together to get him back home.

He just hadn't had the chance to explain that yet. Still, he does his best to try keep up while following, keeping an eye out the farther they get to see where the ice cream shop might be.]

They finally pulled to a stop and Skuld hopped off, smacking Sentaro on the shoulder. "I almost had to call Scarlet three times!" she scolded.

"Ah, I'd never let you get hurt, Skuld," he said.

"I wasn't worried about me, dummy!" she said, smacking him again before crossing her arms to check on Hiro.

[baymaxing]

Worried about -- wait, me? I'm okay! I was just trying not to let you get too far ahead.

[Hiro reassures her. It isn't like he fell off the bike or anything trying to keep up. He isn't hurt. He's just a bit out of breath given it had been a while since he rode, let alone that fast.]

She made a frustrated sound then turned and stalked into the ice cream shop. Sentaro winced and glanced at Hiro.

[baymaxing]

A-anyway, ice cream?

[Hiro says with a shrug, ensuring the bike was secure once he hops off before following Skuld inside to see what the options were. Since he is unsure on the flavours available here, there might be some new ones he hasn't tried back home, after all.]

Sentaro shrugged and headed in. The place had over a hundred flavours. Skuld was at the counter. "Kitchen sink." She turned to the boys,. "What do the two of you want?"

[baymaxing]

Huh? Did you just say something about a sink?

[That'd be....in some plumbing store, right? Not anything to do with ice cream. Or so Hiro figures, but he is just approaching now to see the flavours available. His brown eyes widen at the selection, noting the names of the flavours as he tries to decide.]

Okay, this is a lot.

Skuld nodded. "The kitchen sink is my favorite, it is one scoop of each flavor with a whole mess of toppings. They used to have a contest where if you could finish one in a sitting your whole order was free, for some reason they stopped offering that, though," she said, seeming genuinely perplexed.

[baymaxing]

How do you choose with all this? Isn't there just...like, chocolate or something? And that -- that would be.....a lot.

[And she can devour all that ice cream? Impressive. No wonder they stopped that contest....Hiro tries to focus on glancing at the flavours to decide which one he wants.]

Or -- wait, is there one with gummi bears?

Skuld nodded. "Super choco gummi flavor. And they have gummi bears as a topping as well!" she said happily. Ice Cream was her happy place.

[baymaxing]

Alright! Yeah, I'll get one of those, please! And what about you, Sentaro? What do you want?

[Hiro had figured he might wait till last in debating with all these flavors but it was actually not as difficult as he had thought. But he doesn't want to have the other miss out since they came all the way here for ice cream and all. So he steps aside to let the other boy order.]

Sentaro orders his own, a three scoop sundae, and then Skuld happily pays for all three of them before leading them to a table to wait for their food. "This place usually doesn't serve to the table, but my big sister Belldandy talked to them and they said that I can have sit down service whenever I want, and a discount, so long as I do the monthly maintenance on their freezers."

[baymaxing]

Yeah? Nice. My aunt has a cafe downstairs where I live so I can always sneak off with some baking if I want. Though most of the time me trying to fix or improve things tends to backfire a lot....a lot of visits to the hospital growing up between me and Tadashi.

[Hiro's smile fades slightly at the memories. Tadashi. It feels like forever and just yesterday that happened. Still, he sits with them at the table and waits for his ice cream. He would have offered to pay for his own if he had money on him, and money that this place would accept for that matter.]

"Well, not everyone can be a genius," she said, patting his hand like that would make him feel better about his obviously inferior intelligence. "Maybe I can draw you up some simple blueprints before you go."

Sentaro was both smug at how she insulted Hiro without realizing it, and seething over the hand pat, so kept his mouth shut.

[baymaxing]

I mean, just cause not all my inventions worked out doesn't mean I'm not smart. I did rebuild Baymax from Tadashi's notes and all that he left. And I made it into university.

[Hiro says with a shrug, not seeming all that flustered by the way she pats his hand, but probably just because he only thinks of her as a friend at best given how they just met. That and he is more focused in correcting her.]

Blueprints for what, anyway?

"For improving the cafe, of course. And you can be smart without being a genius. Lots of people are smart, it is fine!"

[baymaxing]

I'd have to talk to Aunt Cass. I doubt she'll let me make much if any 'improvements' after my last attempts.

[But well. Whatever. It couldn't hurt to try? Hiro thanks the staff when they bring over the ice creams, taking his own and trying some when it arrives. Chocolate and gummi bears. Why didn't any ice cream place back home think of this?]

They have to be smart to figure this.

Skuld's ice cream took up more than half the table. It was served in a huge silvery metal bowl made to look like an actual sink. It was almost half her height. She smiled happily and started digging in. Sentaro just grinned. "Good luck getting her to reply to anything for the next five minutes," he said a bit smugly.

[baymaxing]

Only five minutes.....?

[If she could devour all that ice cream that quickly and not die of a stomachache or diabetes in seconds he would be impressed. To say the least. Because that....that's a lot. A Lot of ice cream. Seeing it all he would have expected to need to take some back but they only had their bikes. Which meant she would probably expect to actually eat it all.

Hiro just raises an eyebrow at it, distracted for a moment from his own ice cream.]
